Man jailed on child neglect charges

A Springfield Church Road resident was arrested late Monday after holding police at bay for about an hour after a domestic dispute escalated at the Trenton home around 7:30 p.m.

Jeffrey Jasmin, 46, of Springfield Chruch Road, has been jailed on two child neglect charges.

According to deputies, Jasmin refused to honor a family court order and let a family member take the two children with her and holed himself up in the home with the juveniles.

He told her that he would shoot anyone who tried to get in the house and stated that he was loading his gun, according to the police report.

The County's tactical team responded after a deputy failed to get the man to come out of the home. The specialized team eventually got the man to come out and took his weapons.

He was jailed at the Aiken County detention center.
