TalkBacks for Jan. 22
Out of the loop
I notice Sheriff Hunt wasn't informed of a decision regarding the disgraced deputies. Wasn't that one of Barbara Morgan's responsibilities? Yet another thing she left undone. I hope she does something constructive with her retirement.
It's our money
The City Council isn't spending their money; they're spending our money. I approve of them not putting up the fence but I'm not real sure I approve of the medical facility on Silver Bluff if it's only going to be to help the rich folk.
Hunt is great
Sheriff Hunt is a wonderful sheriff and I don't appreciate the negativity.
Run on time
I live on Highway 78 between Montmorenci and Windsor and the school buses out here have different times that they show up for picking up the kids. I call the school but nothing is done.
Get a job
Why would someone cut back school to give to Medicaid when all these young girls don't want to work and are getting help from the system. They need to get jobs and take care of themselves.
Education first
The residents of Aiken County need to worry more about our children's educations instead of the birds, the golf courses and the rednecks. The cuts they've made to funding are what really matter. Children are our future.
Library first
Why can we find money for everything in the county but can't do anything with the library. People use it and we need to do something with it. There's money being spent on old railroad cars. How many people are going to go there? More people use the library.
Crazy man's job?
All the president's break their election promises. You'd have to have a mental problem to run for president and have to put up with all the stuff from citizens and other countries.
Fairness
Why should I have to buy a permit to have a yard sale within the city but a new restaurant can do interviews and take pictures of girls applying in a red car in a parking lot. That doesn't seem fair.
