Culee Pope
Mr. Culee Pope, age 82, of 108 Mae Acres Court, Aiken, departed this life on Thursday, May 15, 2008, at the Heartland Hospice House, Augusta. Funeral service will be held Sunday, May 18, 2008, at 4 p.m. from the Old Zion Hill Baptist Church, Aiken. Burial will follow in the church cemetery. Mr. Pope was preceded in death by his wife, Gertrude Corley Pope; a brother, James Pope, and a sister, Dorothy Pope Garrett.
Survivors include two brothers, Bennie Pope Jr. and George Pope, both of Aiken; two sisters-in-law, Lillie Pope and Bernice Pope, both of Aiken; a loving cousin, Ethel Pope of Aiken; and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, other relatives and loving friends.
Friends may call at Jackson-Brooks Funeral Home beginning at 1 p.m. Saturday. The family will receive friends at the funeral home Saturday from 6 to 7 p.m. The remains will lie in state at the church Sunday from 3 to 4 p.m.
