Greer woman shot to death as she pulls out of driveway

GREER (AP) -- Greer police say a woman has been killed by a former boyfriend who shot her as she pulled out of her driveway to go to work.

Authorities say 41-year-old Sheila Grayson was shot in the body several times as she backed out around 5:30 a.m. Monday and her BMW crashed into a neighbor's house.

Police say 44-year-old Robert Irby has been charged with murder.

Investigators say Irby and Grayson used to date, but in the past several months Grayson reported harassing phone calls and had a restraining order against Irby.

Greer police have Irby in custody. It wasn't clear if he has an attorney, and a phone listing could not be found.
