CONTEST: Design a new fountain for the Newberry Street Festival site and win $50!

Since the old fountain on Newberry Street has crumbled, something will have to be done with that space. The Aiken Standard is interested in your ideas. Simply sketch out your idea with pen or pencil, or use some sort of digital, image manipulation software to add the fountain you'd like to see. A high-resolution digital photo of the empty fountain is available for download at www.aikenstandard.com/fountain_contest.

Once you've got your original artwork ready to go, either e-mail it to editorial@aikenstandard.com or send a hard-copy to 326 Rutland Drive, Aiken, SC 29801.

If we think you've got the best design, we'll give you $50. Simple as that!

...up above is a high-resolution version (1600 pixels by 708 pixels). Simply right-click (control-click if you're using a Mac) on the photograph. From the pop-up menu, choose "Save as..." and design away.

Beside having a great idea for the fountain if this really takes off wil the Aiken Standard do any future contest toward getting people involve with helping the growth of Aiken.
