Behind-the-scenes tours offered at Playhouse during Aiken's Makin'
Ever wondered exactly how the Aiken Community Playhouse operates or how you can become involved?
On Saturday from 10 a.m. until 2 p.m. during Aiken's Makin' the ACP will hold an open house to help answer questions and to introduce the community to the variety of activities housed at the ACP.
"Come learn about all the exciting things happening at the ACP this season," reads the organization's press materials about the event.
The entire community is invited to discover the wealth of volunteer opportunities and training sessions available.
ACP volunteers are needed on stage and behind the scenes.
Adults and children will also be able to learn more about the ACP's Youth Wing program. Details on how to become involved will be available.
Current ACP volunteers will be on hand to provide facility tours. Find out what the backstage area looks like, and discover the hard work put into each show from set building to lighting design and more.
Visitors will also have the opportunity to subscribe to the ACP season.
By purchasing a subscription, theater attendees save an average of $45. ACP's subscriptions are a "flex-pass," meaning there are a total of seven tickets in a subscription that may be used for any show at any time.
The 2010-11 season "From Stage to Screen and Back Again" includes such main stage performances as "Frankenstein: A New Musical," "The Odd Couple," "A Christmas Story," "Rabbit Hole," "Up the Down Staircase," "Crossing Delancey" and "RENT."
