Red Cross looking for Toast of the Town acts
It's time to strut your stuff and help a local charity.
The Aiken County Chapter of the American Red Cross is preparing to hold auditions for its second Toast of the Town event. The fundraiser will be held on Oct. 10 at the Washington Center for the Performing Arts.
Auditions for the event will be held on Sunday, Aug. 30 at 3 p.m. and Monday, Aug. 31 at 7 p.m. at St. Mary Help of Christian Church.
The theme of the 2009 variety program is "The Red Cross Through the Years" beginning in 1920 and going through the present day.
Everyone is invited to audition as acts of all types are wanted. A panel of judges will select 20 acts to perform and anticipate a wide range of talent from which to choose. Vocalists, dancers, musicians, poets, gymnasts, magicians, jugglers and any other talent not mentioned is encouraged to audition.
Each act must be under four minutes and should include 10 or fewer people. All ages and abilities are welcome.
For more information regarding the upcoming audition, call 641-4152 or 643-4548.
