Tickets still available for the 68th Aiken Trials
There are only a handful of tickets left for infield rail spots at Aiken Trials. Outfield rail spots have sold out.
Infield rail tickets and second- and third-row tickets are available on www.tixonline.com, the online ticket vendor for the 68th edition of the Aiken Trials. Outfield second- and third-row tickets are available for $75 and $70, respectively. Infield tickets are $100.
Gates open at 10 a.m. Saturday for the first leg of the Aiken Triple Crown at Aiken Training Track, 538 Two Notch Road S.E.
Opening ceremonies with a carriage parade begin at 1 p.m., and post time for the first race is 2 p.m.
Spectators are not permitted to bring their dogs, canopies or pop-up tents to the trials because they can frighten the horses.
The National Weather Service is calling for partly sunny skies with a high of 69 degrees on Saturday.
There will not be a tent party this year, but individual sponsors will have cabanas that are close to the finish line.
Outfield general admission parking is accessible from Two Notch Road, and infield parking is accessible from Audubon Drive.
Organizers think the crowd will reach the 10,000 mark or above.
General admission tickets can be purchased at AllStar Rents, the H. Odell Weeks Activities Center, Aiken Saddlery and Supply, Boots, Bridles and Britches and Anything Goes in North Augusta.
Advance tickets can be purchased through today.
The event is being sponsored by AllStar Rents Inc., Meybohm Realtors, VistaBank, Atlantic Broadband, Boots, Bridles and Britches, The Aiken Horse magazine and Bud Light. The 2010 Aiken Trials will benefit the Aiken Thoroughbred Racing Hall of Fame and Museum and Aiken Land Conservancy.
General admission tickets are $10 in advance and $15 at the gate. Parking tickets are $10 in advance and $15 at the gate.
