An Aiken man with a criminal history that includes a number of financial crimes is back on Aiken Public Safety's Most Wanted list after first making the list in 2008, official said.

Donnie Garry, 27, is wanted for bank fraud on allegations he deposited a check from a personal account that he knew was "no good" into the account of a family member via the ATM at a bank on Laurens Street.

Then, the suspect reportedly went to the Bi-Lo on Pine Log Road and York Street and made a number of purchases with his family member's ATM card.

Aiken Public Safety investigators said Garry knew the funds were no good.

Police said they don't know where Garry is, but are asking for the public's help finding him.

In 2008, Garry was tracked down and taken into custody by the Massachusetts state police on charges filed by Aiken Public Safety.

He and his then-girlfriend, who was also on the City's Most Wanted list, were living in Massachusetts when Aiken police received information of their whereabouts.

Local police then contacted the Massachusetts Violent Fugitive Apprehension Team, which detained the woman and arrested Garry three days later, said Cpl. Jeremy Hembree.

Garry was charged with a scam that police said cost at least one bank thousands of dollars. He was arrested for that charge, and linked to two other fraud allegations.

Garry pleaded guilty to that charge and was given probation.

Hembree said Public Safety will extradite Garry again if he is located outside of the state.

Anyone with information about these subjects is asked to call Aiken Public Safety at (800) 642-7620. Individuals also should call CrimeStoppers of the Midlands at (888) CRIME-SC. Callers can remain anonymous and will be eligible for a cash reward of between $50 and $1,000.
