Students to vie for science fair prizes
The Savannah River Regional Science and Engineering Fair competition will be held at the USC Aiken Business & Education Building Saturday.
Project registration will run from 8 to 10:30 a.m., with judging to follow from 11 a.m. to noon. Winners will be posted at 4 p.m.
The projects will be open to the public from 3:30 to 6 p.m., with awards presented from 5 to 6 p.m. More than 300 CSRA students were expected to qualify for the event.
The winner of each regional competition will be eligible to travel to San Jose, Calif., for the year's international competition.
The science fair is sponsored by Savannah River Nuclear Solutions.
Breakfast will help Kidney Benefit
Applebee's restaurant will host a breakfast in behalf of the Aiken Kidney Benefit production of "Cinderella" Saturday from 7:30 to 10 a.m.
Tickets are $10, and $8 from each ticket will be used to help dialysis patients who are having trouble meeting living expenses, such as rent, utilities and transportation. All the main characters from the musical comedy will appear at the breakfast.
"Cinderella" will debut March 19 at the URS Center for the Performing Arts, formerly the Washington Center for the Performing Arts, 124 Newberry St. N.W.

R.S.V.P for GOP club meeting
The Aiken Republican Club will meet on Monday at Newberry Hall. The speakers for this meeting will be Republican candidates for South Carolina Attorney General, Robert Bolchoz, Leighton Lord and Alan Wilson.
The social time will begin at 11:30 a.m., and lunch will be served at noon. The cost is $15 for members and $20 for non-members.

Just Breathe to hold tarot class
Just Breathe Studio, 1501 Whiskey Road, will offer a Tarot for a Better Life workshop on Saturday from 1 to 3 p.m. The cost is $25.
