Travel company has celebrated first anniversary
An equestrian travel company recently celebrated its first anniversary.
For the past year, EquitrekkingTravel.com has been making the dreams of horsemen come true through the various equestrian vacations they offer.
The equestrian vacations are based on the Emmy Award-winning "Equitrekking" PBS TV show, said Darley Newman. "Equitrekking" host and South Carolina native. Newman works in partnership with Julie Snyder, a veteran of the travel industry, who is also a horseman.
"Julie's a great equestrian, and we've done some traveling together," said Newman, in a phone interview on Wednesday. "She lives in La Crosse, Wis. I talk to her a couple of times a day."
Equitrekking Travel became a reality in January 2010 and has enabled horsemen and their nonriding companions to enjoy a variety of vacations in different locales featured on the award-winning series.
"With Equitrekking Travel, our goal was to provide diverse travel experiences that include riding as well as additional active and cultural adventures," said Newman. "Julie's 20 years of experience as an active travel agent and her affiliation with Virtuoso mean that she can not only book travelers on Equitrekking Travel vacations but use her knowledge and network to send them on additional excursions, like a recent family's horse riding, biking and cruising adventure in Turkey."
The website for Equitrekking Travel includes a number of features that people interested in booking an equestrian vacation will find extremely useful and informative. They'll have an opportunity to view professional quality, high definition video and photo galleries and read informational travel blogs with detailed information about the destinations, said Newman.
"We're a very modern company spanning so many different countries and interacting with people around the globe," said Newman.
"Equitrekking" can be seen on S.C. ETV on Thursdays at 7 p.m. The show is broadcast in high definition on PBS stations nationwide and in more than 65 countries.
