TRENTON -- Mrs. Ella M. Simpkins Young, 83, of Sandy Run Road, entered into rest Nov. 4, 2009.
Funeral services will be held at 1 p.m. Sunday, Nov. 8, 2009, at Science Hill Missionary Baptist Church with the Rev. Dr. Ronnie Young Sr. officiating. Interment will be in the Science Hill Cemetery. Mrs. Young, a native of Edgefield County, was a member of Science Hill Missionary Baptist Church where she belonged to several auxiliaries, the senior choir, willing workers club, president of the church club and director of VBS.
Survivors include four daughters, Inez Y. Elam (Milton III), Betty Y. Butler (Calvin), Sharon Y. Holmes (Stanley) and Karen Y. Lewis (Victor); three sons, Johnnie Young Jr. (Rosie), Ronnie A. Young Sr. (Mattie) and Sammie Young (Clara); a sister, Mary Lee Pressley; a brother-in-law, Jimmy Young; 19 grandchildren; 31 great-grandchildren; devoted friends of the family, Lizzie Hudson and Edmaster Patterson; and a host of other relatives and friends.
The family will receive friends from 5 to 6 p.m. today at the funeral home.
