Grace B. Russell of South Carolina passed away in Maryland after a brief residence. She was 88. Having lived in New Ellenton for more than 50 years, Mrs. Russell held memberships in the Order of the Eastern Star, Louise Best Circle - St. Paul's United Methodist Church and the VFW Ladies Auxiliary, of which she served as past chairperson for South Carolina.
Mrs. Russell is survived by her son, Wilson "Rusty" A. Russell Jr., and his wife Louise; and her three grandchildren, Joe Russell, Michael Russell and Terri Russell-Grupenhoff. Mrs. Russell is predeceased by her husband, Wilson A. Russell Sr.; a son, Robert L. "Bobby" Russell; and a grandson, Fred Geelhaar.
Family and friends will honor Grace's life at the McEwen Funeral Home, 5716 Monroe Road, Charlotte, N.C., on Friday from noon to 2 p.m. with a service immediately following. Interment will be in Evergreen Cemetery. If desired, contributions may be made to the Alzheimer's Association or the Leukemia Foundation.
