The most highly anticipated movie of the summer has arrived.
"The Dark Knight" swept into Aiken on Friday, leaving residents in a frenzy to get tickets and see what all of the hype is about. The movie packs it all, according to movie goers, from edge-of-your-seat anticipation to the performance of a lifetime. The 152-minute thriller featuring the late Heath Ledger as the Joker even left many in awe as they described his performance.
As the late afternoon showing of the film released and the next round of Batman and Joker fans arrived at the Aiken Mall Cinema on Friday a little after 6 p.m., the air was filled with anticipation and eagerness from those waiting and astonishment from those exiting the theater. A few viewers leaving the movie together said they were left speechless as they were still trying to absorb the movie. Others discussed how many times they jumped with their friends.
For those arriving, the best option was to reserve their tickets in advance as the thriller has been selling out box offices across the nation. No matter the reason for viewing the movie, it is sure to entertain.
"The Dark Knight" is currently playing in Aiken County at the Aiken Mall Cinema and The Big Mo. See today's Living on the Go section for times and phone numbers.
