No one was injured after a Monday morning fire at a North Augusta residence.

Around 8:58 a.m. North Augusta Department of Public Safety responded to a reported fire in the 200 block of Edisto Drive, according to Lt. Clay Swann with North Augusta Department of Public Safety.

Swann said when officers arrived to the scene, they saw heavy smoke coming from a residence. A deck that was attached to the back of the residence was on fire and spread to the interior of the residence.

The fire was extinguished and the residence had some extensive damage from the fire.

The Red Cross was also notified and no one was injured from the fire.

The fire was the second one to take place in North Augusta in less than a week. On April 19, crews responded to a fire at an abandoned house in the 700 block of West Martintown Road.

No one was injured during last week's fire and a cause has not been determined.
