South Carolina Gov. Henry McMaster's office announced this week Emerson, a manufacturer of ASCO fluid automation products, plans to expand its operations in Aiken County.
A news release provided Tuesday said the expansion is expected to bring more than $8 million of capital investment and create 86 new jobs. Hiring for the new positions is already underway, and interested applicants are encouraged to visit bit.ly/2lh12ur.
ASCO is located at 1561 Columbia Highway in Aiken.
Emerson's ASCO business will be consolidating its regional cylinder, motion control and accessory product lines to its Aiken facility, according to the release.
“South Carolina continues to show that our manufacturing industry is one of the best in the world, and ASCO’s latest expansion in Aiken is a further testament to that," McMaster said in the release. "We’ve worked hard to create a pro-business environment and a highly-trained workforce, and those efforts continue to pay off.”
Aiken County Councilman Ronnie Young said the County is "extremely pleased" that ASCO is expanding its operations.
"This decision represents Aiken County’s commitment to our robust existing industry cluster. County Council understands that this expansion could have been done elsewhere, but we are grateful to ASCO for the new investment and jobs that will be coming to Aiken County.”
