For 12 years, the Aiken Mid-Day Lions have held their immensely popular Luncheon and Fashion Show fundraiser on Administrative Assistants Day. They will do it again on April 23 at Houndslake Country Club.
The show theme is "Carolina Girl, Best in the World," and it will be all about pink, green and white. Jason Sikes will sing beach music, and there will be shagging demonstrations, door prizes and a silent auction beginning at 11:30 a.m. followed by lunch at noon.
Dillard's will present the latest spring and summer apparel in regular and plus sizes.
Grand Lion Sponsors are Triangle Dodge and Magnolia Medical Center. Aiken Ophthalmology is in the Lioness category, and Cubs are Dr. R. Bauer Vaughters III, Carriage Hills, Center for Sight and Trinity Lutheran. Keepsakes sponsors are Aiken Regional Medical Centers, Bridgestone/Firestone SC, Congressman J. Gresham Barrett, Hite's Floral, Kelly Paint & Body and Right at Home.
Tickets are $27. A corporate table seats 10 and is $270.
Guests are encouraged to get involved by bringing used eyeglasses to donate to the Lions Recycle for Sight Program. Glasses will be prepared for distribution in developing countries where eye care is often unaffordable and inaccessible. There are drop boxes at the Allstate office behind Hardee's on Whiskey Road and at the Center for Sight and Aiken Ophthalmology.
