Young's leadership right for the House

I recently learned that Tom Young of Aiken is running for S.C. House Seat 81. As Director of Student Development and Student Government at the University of South Carolina, I worked very closely with Tom when he served as a student senator and then president of the student body. My observation was that no one could be elected to president of the student body (1992-93) unless he or she could access the needs of the many different and diverse groups within the Carolina Community and then represent them well.
I found Tom to be very capable at determining priorities, recruiting and motivating those who could help him accomplish goals which improved Carolina for all of his constituents. Tom's ability to work well with all types of people, his work ethic and his intellect allowing him to grasp many issues at one time are his strengths which would serve well in the state legislature.
We are fortunate when intelligent and educated citizens of Tom's character and integrity offer to serve in public office. I have worked with students at USC and as a volunteer with the Boy Scouts of America for over 30 years, and during that time I have not met a more honorable or capable person who could serve the people of South Carolina than Tom Young. I urge the citizens of District 81 to elect Tom in the upcoming Republican primary.
