By KAREN DAILYStaff writerDeputies were still working late Thursday to positively identify two men arrested earlier in the day on burglary charges, officials said. After tracking for more than a half-mile, the Aiken County Sheriff’s Office deputies and members of the Aiken Bloodhound Tracking Team arrested the two men on allegations they were involved in an overnight burglary and theft at Montmorenci Junction, 1049 Charleston Highway in Montmorenci, said Lt. Michael Frank, an Aiken County sheriff’s Office spokesperson. The men, Frank said, are uncooperative, so investigators still are trying to positively identify the individuals.Between 8:30 and 9:30 a.m., deputies arrested the men in a mobile home at 123 Psalm Circle, in Montmorenci. They found stolen lottery tickets, beer, cigars and candy, Frank said.Shortly before 3 a.m., the Montmorenci Junction was burglarized. Investigators found the siding had been pried away from the building and the burglars had climbed into the business.  Investigators have linked the men to another break-in Wednesday night at the store, Frank said. The subjects are being held at the Aiken County Detention Center. More arrests are likely, Frank said.Anyone with information about this crime is asked to contact the Aiken County Sheriff’s Office: (800) 922-9709. Individuals also should call Crimestoppers of the Midlands at (888) 559-TIPS. Callers can remain anonymous and are eligible for a cash reward or between $50 and $1,000.
