There is nothing to do.
These are words of boredom often expressed by children and they are words grandparents and relatives don't like to hear. A simple call to one of Aiken's newest businesses, To Grandma's House We Go, LLC, can solve the problem.
Owner Debbie Hawkins heard these words of exasperation expressed from her friends and family one too many times and decided to create a business to change the tune.
Now when children leave, they can't wait to come back because there are so many fun activities and the best part is there aren't problems with storage.
To Grandma's House We Go, LLC rents children's items, helping to relieve many stresses associated with traveling with children. Instead of having to pack the stroller, the pack 'n play, the car seat and the toys, visitors only need to bring their clothing. The rest is covered.
The new business offers daily and weekly rentals for the following items: full-sized crib, pack 'n plays, bed rails, highchairs, booster seats, strollers, car seats, baby carriers, exersaucer, baby swing, bouncy seat, jumparoo, walkers, children's table and chairs, tea set, dishes, play food, toy kitchen, paint easel, pirate ship, puppet show stage, puppets, dress-up clothes, wagons, tricycles, bicycles with and without training wheels, play tent, potty chair, baby bath tub, safety gate, boppy, Little Tykes basketball goal and a game table featuring foosball, air hockey and 13 additional games.
To make life even easier, To Grandma's House We Go, LLC will deliver and set up many items or the items may pick them up. Contact To Grandma's House We Go, LLC today to make rental arrangements by calling (803) 257-7057 or e-mailing grandmashouseaiken@yahoo.com for complete details.

grandma :  5/16/2008

As a grandma of 3 preschoolers and with two more babies on the way I can heartily approve of any such initiative. There are a few other considerations such as baby proofing a house again, electric sockets, dangling cords and all that can be done plus rails on steps and other things that we can't completely renovate for the grandkids but that do need a watchful eye. I prefer to purchase second-hand garage sale items to have around at all times but that also runs the risk that they are outdated technology, with crib slats too far apart or no longer 'cool' - so a rental service of new items is very appropriate too.
