The Aiken County Sheriff's Office was searching for a man, who late Friday morning robbed an employee outside Rich's Furniture and Home Décor, officials say.
At 11:06 a.m., as Bruce Jackson stood outside the business smoking, a man walked from around the side of the store and directed him to go inside, said Lt. Michael Frank, an agency spokesperson.
Jackson refused, at which point, the man shoved what the victim thought was a handgun in his back and grabbed money from his pants pocket.
The assailant threw down a red T-shirt and flashlight and ran down Vaucluse Road and onto a side street, officials believe.
The Aiken Department of Public Safety and Aiken Bloodhound Tracking Team responded and searched the immediate area.
The subject is described as a black male in his 20s with medium build. He was wearing a blue shirt and blue pants, according to officials.
Anyone with information about this crime is asked to contact the Aiken County Sheriff's Office: (800) 922-9709. Individuals also should call CrimeStoppers of the Midlands: (888) 559-TIPS. Callers can remain anonymous and are eligible for a cash reward or between $50 and $1,000.
