Colvin named principal of Greendale
Sonya Colvin, a North Aiken Elementary School assistant principal, has been promoted to the principal's position at Greendale Elementary School in New Ellenton.
She will succeed Becky Koelker, who has moved to the same position at Aiken Elementary School.
Colvin earned an undergraduate degree in early childhood education from USC Aiken and has master's degrees in educational leadership and special education from the University of South Carolina. Colvin is a doctoral candidate at USC in special education administration. She was a special education teacher and coordinator at A.L. Corbett Middle School and held several district-level positions in the Department of Special Education before going to North Aiken in 2010.
