PEP seeking donations for project
Public Education Partners is seeking donations for its educational project of the month for April.
Wagener-Salley High School English teachers Tami Shaffer, Tracie Williams and Samuel Evans want to expand the school's pull-out remediation program for struggling students.
The expansion would include individualized reading remediation and acceleration through a technology-based program. The goals are to increase participating students' reading cores by three grade levels, so that they are reading to at least a ninth-grade level.
About 72 students will be impacted during the project's initial phase. The start-up cost is about $500.
Those interested in supporting the program, go to the "Donate Now" star at the top of the website www.publicedpartners.org. Those interested in donating by check should make it payable to Public Education Partners for April POM and mail it to P.O. Box 3821, Aiken, SC 29802.
