Pete Joel Williams, 32, of Graniteville, was charged Saturday with murder, first-degree burglary and armed robbery in connection of the death of 68-year-old John Barrs.
Barrs died from a severe head injury caused by blunt force trauma. He was discovered inside his Warrenville residence by his caretaker on Friday morning around 8 a.m.
"Due to our investigators' persistence and hard work with this incident, the sheriff's office was able to make an arrest concerning a violent act and give citizens in this community some peace of mind," said Sheriff Michael Hunt.
