Teens arrested after burglary
Two teenagers were arrested Wednesday in North Augusta on allegations they were caught during a burglary at 511 Groves Blvd., officials said.
At 9:22 a.m., North Augusta Department of Public Safety officers were called to what they were told was a burglary in progress. Once there, police found the resident, a 21-year-old woman, safe in the residence. The officers found a rear sliding glass door smashed and spotted two individuals running from the rear of the residence, police said.
A perimeter was quickly established, and Jevon R. Mitchell, 17, of Conifer Court, North Augusta, was found hiding in a Triangle Plaza business, police said.
The Aiken Bloodhound Tracking Team found a second suspect, a 15-year-old juvenile from Augusta, in the wooded area behind the Groves apartment. The teenager was charged.
The victim was uninjured, and no property was taken.
