Wanted man turns himself in

An Aiken man wanted on allegations he attempted to sexually assault a woman at work surrendered to police Monday, officials said.

Andra Jackson, 20, faces assault with intent to commit criminal sexual conduct in the first degree and kidnapping charges.

The victim, an Aiken woman, approached police at Aiken Public Safety's headquarters on Nov. 8 to report the alleged assault.

She told police that the suspect cornered her in a room the night before while they were working together at a local business.

She said he would not let her leave the room and held her there against her will. He then attempted to have sex with her, officials say.

She said she was able to get away and went to the police the next morning.
