In Wednesday's edition of the Aiken Standard, the number of Aiken County Sheriff's Office deputies fired as a result of an October 2007 scandal within the ranks of the narcotics unit was incorrect. Four deputies were terminated. Investigator Brian Owens, then 38, resigned.

The Aiken Standard regrets the error.
