Investigators seek information on Crosland Park shooting
Investigators seek info on shooting
Aiken Public Safety investigators spent several hours in Crosland Park Monday afternoon, leaving CrimeStoppers contact information cards for residents who may know details about a weekend shooting that sent a 17-year-old to the hospital with a gunshot wound, officials say.
The officers left the hanging cards on Sommers Avenue homes and other nearby residences with the hope that someone may come forward. So far, few people have been willing to talk with the police, said Lt. David Turno, a spokesperson for the department.
The shooting occurred at 731 Sommers Ave. after a fight erupted, officials say.
The fight, according to reports, may have been gang-related, but police say they haven't confirmed those details.
Police remind residents that anyone who reports information to CrimeStoppers can remain anonymous.
Anyone with information about these subjects is asked to contact CrimeStoppers of the Midlands at (888) CRIME-SC.¬ Callers will be eligible for a cash reward of between $50 and $1,000.

While at this residence Sunday, police say they found a gallon-sized bag containing the suspected drug.
