A holdup was reported Saturday evening at the Royal Inn.

According to police, a black man described as about 5 feet 8 inches tall and 150 pounds entered the motel lobby around 7 p.m. armed with a gun.


The victim handed money to the man who then left the area.

The Aiken Bloodhound Tracking Team responded, but no suspect was located.

An Aiken County Sheriff's Office reserve deputy was reportedly shot in the leg by a man who fired a pellet gun at him Thursday evening. The victim said the man then shot the pellet gun at his patrol vehicle and then left with another man. The man was wearing a white skull cap. The Aiken Bloodhound Tracking Team was called to search the area, but neither the pellet gun nor the suspects was found.
