Donald M. Day, 67, of Aiken, died Sunday, May 11, 2008, at the Medical College of Georgia, Augusta. Funeral services for Mr. Day will be held at 11 a.m. Wednesday, May 14, 2008, at the Pine Forrest Baptist Church, Langley. Visitation will be at the church from 10 a.m. until the time of the service. Interment will follow at Southlawn Cemetery, Aiken. Pallbearers will be Chris Clark, Jerry Hatcher, Aaron Bush, Pete Day, Ricky Seal and Rusty Seal. The Deacons of Pine Forrest Baptist Church will serve as honorary pallbearers. Rev. Ron Doss and Rev. Louie Anderson will officiate. Memorials may be directed to the American Heart Association, 520 Gervais St. Suite 300, Columbia, SC 29201. George Funeral Home and Cremation Center, 211 Park Ave. S.W., Aiken, is assisting the family.
Mr. Day was born in Aiken, S.C., a son of the Late Emanuel Cebron and Doris Morgan Day. He was an avid fisherman and a NASCAR fan. He was a member of the Pine Forrest Baptist Church and also member of the Masonic Lodge #156 in Aiken.
Mr. Day is survived by his wife of 47 years, Linda Gardner Day of Aiken; five sisters, Betty Day of Aiken, Frances (Archie) Kennedy of Graniteville, Mary (James) Clark of Wagener, Ammergena (Ken) Huber of Jacksonville, Fla., and Linda (Danny) Mills of Lady Lake, Fla.; and two brothers, J.C. (Sonya) Day of Lexington and William Day of Jacksonville, Fla. He is also survived by several nieces and nephews.
