Submitted Photo Craig and Mark Baynham, shown here at the Pug Mill under the 13th Street Bridge, will be the speakers at the next Heritage Council meeting.

Craig and Mark Baynham will share some stories and other information at the next meeting of the Heritage Council of North Augusta.

Milledge Murray, the council’s president, called Baynham Pottery one of the more credible family businesses in North Augusta’s history.

Also of interest is Craig’s history, as he was a former member of both the Dallas Cowboys and the Chicago Bears. He also spent a year playing for the St. Louis Cardinals in 1972.

“It’ll be pretty exciting,” Murray said. “They were in business for a long, long time. The program is going to focus heavily on the pottery aspect, and we’re pretty excited about it.”

Murray also joked that with Craig’s history, there could be an entire program dedicated just to him.

Also speaking will be Natasha McCants, president of the of Leadership North Augusta Class of 2014. She will speak about the class project, which centered around the Pug Mill under the 13th Street Bridge.

The Heritage Council’s monthly programs meet at the North Augusta Community Center, 495 Brookside Ave. The event is scheduled for 7 p.m. on Sept. 2, and each meeting will be the first Tuesday of each month.
