An Aiken man was arrested on Monday on multiple drug-related charges.

Daryl Antonio Simmons, 39, of Sharyn Lane, was arrested after Aiken County Sheriff’s Office investigators conducted search warrants for distribution of cocaine, three counts of trafficking cocaine and distribution of cocaine within half-mile of a school. The arrest was made after a three-month long investigation into “a large operation of illegal narcotics sales,” according to a sheriff’s report.

Investigators seized approximately 69 grams of cocaine, 17 grams of an unknown white powder and 355 grams of an unknown crystal white substance, the release read.

“This is another example of the hard work that our deputies do for the citizens of this county,” stated Aiken County Sheriff Michael Hunt in the press release. “It is our greatest hope that this recent narcotics arrest serves as a warning to all those who choose to sell narcotics in our county; you will be held accountable.”

The investigation is still ongoing.
