Two boys hid in a bathroom until police arrived after a man broke into their home on Friday, according to the Aiken Department of Public Safety.

Officers were called to a home on Vincent Avenue at about 12:30 p.m. and were told by dispatch that there were two juveniles hiding in the bathroom, according to an incident report. They arrived and found a back door open and broken glass.

The juveniles told officers they saw the suspect outside their home before they heard him knock on the door and windows, police said. The suspect allegedly threw a rock through a window, at which point the 16-year-old juvenile took his younger brother and hid in the bathroom until police arrived.

Officers searched for the suspect but were unable to locate him. Nothing was reported missing from the home.
