Sheriff's office reviews Greenville arrest
GREENVILLE, S.C. (AP) Greenville County deputies are doing an internal review of the arrest of a man at a Greenville Wal-Mart that was captured on video.
Master Deputy Jonathan Smith told local media outlets the Taser didn't seem to affect the man. He says surveillance cameras from the Wal-Mart show officers spent nearly 30 minutes trying to subdue and eventually arrest the man. Smith says one deputy has been placed on leave during the investigation.
Smith says the man was acting erratically saying "I'm 911" several times and tried to take a knife from one officer. He says the deputies felt he was a danger to other shoppers.
