The Aiken County Sheriff’s Office is investigating the burglary of a Beech Island convenience store early Tuesday.

Officers responded to a burglar alarm at the Mani Mart on Cary Drive just after midnight Tuesday, according to a sheriff’s report. They found the store’s front glass doors open.

Surveillance footage showed an unknown suspect break the glass with an unknown object, police said. The suspect went inside the store, walked behind the cash register area and then left the store, according to reports.

It did not appear that the suspect touched or took anything, police said. The owner of the store told officers he believes the suspect is a regular customer.

The suspect is described as a white male between 5 feet 6 inches and 5 feet 10 inches tall and weighing between 185 and 215 pounds, according to the report. He was wearing dark pants, a blue short-sleeve shirt and a dark hat, and possibly had a T-shirt over his face.
