Dogwood Stable’s Miss Frost was a winner at Saratoga Race Course in upstate New York on Monday afternoon. The chestnut filly captured the $100,000 Tenski Stakes by a half-length over Final Redemption.

With jockey Edgar Prado aboard, Miss Frost covered a mile on grass in 1:35.09. She is a chestnut daughter of Curlin, who also is the sire of Dogwood’s star runner, Palace Malice.

Miss Frost was sent off at 9-1 odds and was the sixth betting choice in the field of 10 3-year-old fillies. Carried out five-wide in the first turn, she stalked Zinzay, who set the early pace.

Near the quarter pole, Miss Frost started making her move, and she took the lead late. Hillhouse High finished third, only head behind Final Redemption, as the three fillies reached the wire at nearly the same time.

A winning ticket on Miss Frost paid $20.40.
