According to reports provided by the Aiken Department of Public Safety:

A 56-year-old Aiken woman was detained for shoplifting on Monday after she tried to take $182 in merchandise from a store on Richland Avenue without paying.

An 18-year-old North Augusta man was detained for shoplifting on Monday after he tried to take $125 in merchandise from a store in Aiken Mall without paying.

An unknown man shoplifted a case of beer from a store on Hampton Avenue on Tuesday.

A 69-year-old Aiken woman reported a scam on Monday after a man called her and told her she had misdemeanor charges on her record for missing jury duty. The suspect said he could clear the charges if the woman paid him money. The woman said she knew it was a scam and tried to gather more information about the suspect, but he wouldn’t provide it.

A 20-year-old Williston woman accused her ex-boyfriend of stealing a credit card of hers and using it at stores in Aiken and North Augusta.

A 38-year-old Aiken woman reported her cellphone stolen on Monday after she left it on the jewelry counter of a Richland Avenue store.

A 27-year-old Aiken woman reported on Monday that someone keyed the side of her vehicle while it was parked in a parking lot on Richland Avenue.

A 19-year-old Aiken woman reported on Tuesday that someone keyed her car while it was parked on Teague Street.

Gunshots were reported on Park Avenue near Sumter Street at about 10:40 p.m. Tuesday. Officers investigated but were unable to find any evidence of shots fired.

According to reports provided by the Aiken County Sheriff’s Office:

An Aiken business owner reported on Tuesday that a family member stole $81 from the business’ cash drawer. The owner said he did not wish to press charges.

Burglaries were reported on J.B. Swartz Road in Wagener and Green Acres Park Lane in Warrenville.

Vehicles were reported stolen from Combs Drive in Aiken and Belvedere Clearwater Road in North Augusta.
