Three members of Aiken City Council will hold their last committee meeting on Wednesday to talk about what skills and experience each wants in the next city manager.
Council members Lessie Price, Dick Dewar and Philip Merry comprise the committee, but all Council members and the public can attend.
The city managerís seat was vacated last month when former City Manager Richard Pearce resigned from the position.
Council then unanimously voted to hire former City Manager Roger LeDuc as interim city manager.
Council entered into a contract with LeDuc, which states he will serve in that position for six months at $65 per hour plus expenses. With LeDucís time with the City ending later this year, all Council members will soon discuss their wants and needs before hiring a new city manager.
Committee members will also discuss the filling of vacant director seats, which include former Parks, Recreation and Tourism Department Director Glenn Parker and former City Planning Director Ed Evans.
Parker left his director position in May to pursue other career options, and Evans retired this month to spend more time with his family.
The committee meeting will start at 4 p.m. in room 204 on the second floor of the Municipal Building, located at 214 Park Ave.
