AUGUSTA — Savannah scored four runs over the course of the final three innings Wednesday night to claim a 7-2 victory over the GreenJackets (48-53).


Losing pitcher Joan Gregorio (1-3) went seven innings for Augusta and gave up four runs on eight costly walks and five hits. Relievers Carlos Alvarado and Luis Castillo didn’t fair any better. Alvarado gave up two runs on two hits in one inning of work, and Castillo gave up a run in one inning.


The GreenJackets lineup struggled in the game as well. Chris Lofton and Craig Massoni were the only two players to notch hits for Augusta. They each had two on the night.


Savannah’s Robert Whalen (5-0) remained unbeaten on the season. He pitched 5? innings and gave up two runs on three hits, while striking out three.


The two teams will be back in action tonight at 7 p.m.
