An unknown person allegedly fired several gunshots into an Aiken home early Wednesday while people were inside sleeping, according to the Aiken County Sheriff’s Office.


The incident happened just before 1 a.m. Wednesday at a home on Chime Bell Church Road, according to a sheriff’s report. Four people, including a child, were inside the home sleeping when they were awakened by gunfire.


Officers found several bullet holes on the outside and inside walls of the home, as well as rifle casings in the roadway, police said.


No injuries were reported, and the report did not list any possible suspects.
