Ollie’s Bargain Outlet’s grand opening will include one of NASCAR’s top drivers.
Kevin Harvick will be in Aiken on Aug. 6 to help the community celebrate the closeout store’s new location.
An autograph session will be held with Harvick, but only 250 tickets will be available.
Ollie’s Bargain Outlet will open in the 25,098-square-foot space that once housed Belk at 1660 Richland Ave. Belk relocated to the Aiken Mall in 1989.
Veracity Payment Solutions has occupied a small portion of the empty department store over the past few years and will remain at that location once Ollie’s moves in.
In January, Ziff Properties, which operates the shopping center, announced Ollie’s Bargain Outlet made arrangements to lease the space.
Ollie’s Bargain Outlet, based in Harrisburg, Pennsylvania, is a retailer of closeouts, excess inventory and salvage merchandise, according to a press release.
The retailer currently operates 154 stores in Pennsylvania, Maryland, Delaware, Virginia, West Virginia, New York, New Jersey, Ohio, North Carolina, South Carolina, Kentucky and Tennessee, according to its website.
The first Ollie’s Bargain Outlet opened in 1982.
The grand opening will start at 9 a.m. on Aug. 6.
Autograph tickets will be available at 7:30 a.m., and the autograph session starts at 10 a.m.
Only one autograph ticket per customer will be allowed at the event.
