A Warrenville man said he was assaulted by three people who were allegedly speeding through his neighborhood on Sunday, according to the Aiken County Sheriff’s Office.

The incident happened at about 10:40 p.m. on Lawana Drive, according to a sheriff’s report. The 30-year-old victim said he was walking on the side of the roadway when he saw a red car occupied by three people speeding through the neighborhood. The victim told officers he was concerned about children in the street and approached the individuals in the car, the report stated. The suspects then exited the vehicle and began beating the victim in the head and face.

The victim said he was struck with a beer bottle on the side of the face, police said. Officers observed injuries to the victim.
