SUMTER (AP) — A 35-year-old Summerton man has been charged with murder in the weekend shooting death of 29-year-old Dominee Lawson.

The Item reported on Wednesday that Raheme Kendo Jamison appeared before Magistrate June Briggs on Tuesday at the Clarendon County jail and was denied bond.

Jamison also faces weapons charges in connection with Lawson’s death.

Jamison turned himself in and was arrested Monday by sheriff’s deputies. Coroner Hayes Samuels said Lawson was shot in the abdomen late Sunday night.

Deputies and Summerton police were called to a mobile home around 11:45 p.m. Sunday and found Lawson on the floor of his kitchen.

Sheriff’s Maj. Kipp Coker said the men had been arguing and the fight ended with Lawson being shot.
