Tuesday night armed robbery under investigation

North Augusta police responded to an armed robbery that occurred Tuesday night at a local convenience store.

An unknown male entered the Save Stop located at 10307 Atomic Road at about 11 p.m. demanding money while wielding a handgun at a female clerk, according to an incident report from the North Augusta Department of Public Safety. The clerk emptied the contents of her cash drawer into a white plastic bag and gave it to the man, after which he ran from the store.

The amount of money taken from the drawer is unknown.

According to store employees, the suspect was a “black male, assumable very light skin” with black shoes, pants and shirt. He is believed to be around 5’10” and 180 pounds and between the ages of 18 to 25 years old.
