Dogwood Stable’s Palace Malice stepped it up on Sunday. He worked a half-mile in :47.17 at Saratoga Race Course in upstate New York.

The time was the fastest among the 18 horses that covered the distance while breezing on Saratoga’s main track. Palace Malice’s clocking also was much quicker than the time of :50.82 that he turned in while working a very easy half-mile at Belmont Park on June 22.

Palace Malice was shipped from Belmont on Long Island to Saratoga on June 24. The 4-year-old colt has won all four of his races this year, including the grade I Metropolitan Handicap on June 7. He is scheduled to run next in the grade I Whitney Handicap on Aug. 2 at Saratoga.

Palace Malice is an earner of $2,631,135. He has captured seven of his 16 career races. Last year, he triumphed in the grade I Belmont Stakes.
