Hillbilly Alley

Does anybody in Aiken know where it looks like Hillbilly Alley?

Split the vote

I think U.S. Sen. Lindsey Graham, R-S.C., helped to finance several of his opponents races so he would keep the field full and split the vote.

Yard sales

The City of Aiken has required a yard sale permit for as long as Iíve lived here; and Iíve been here for more than 30 years. This is nothing new.

Outside talent

With the loss of the city manger, director of planning, and the parks and recreation officials, I feel Aiken City Council should seek talent from sources outside of Aiken rather than promote from within. This is a chance for new ideas, similar to organizations in corporate America.

Aiken needs

Aiken needs another pizza restaurant like it needs another sandwich place.

Free enterprise

Why is there a controversy about a truck salvage yard in a largely Republican community? I though free enterprise without any of that big government intrusion was all important, so why ask Aiken County to get involved?

Veteran view

I am a veteran and highly endorse accountability with the VA, the Sgt. Bergdahl terrorist trade, the Benghazi fiasco, the IRS scandal, the fast and furious gun events, and, lastly, the ďour borders are secureĒ lies. What is wrong with Washington?

Taxes

You have no idea how much taxes gated communities pay while they need only limited City/County services. These communities subsidize you.

Religion

If you have a God that you think is in control of whatís happening on this earth today, I suggest you find another God that believes in peace on earth and do unto others. As for children, they need to learn that life is what you make of it and the belief in a deity that has a plan wonít get them a cup of coffee.

Obamacare

I wonder how many brave Democrats will run on the failed Obamacare failure in November?

Nuclear fuel

The federal government stopped Yucca Mountain, so how can we believe they will carry through with the nuclear fuel from Germany? No, it should not be dumped in South Carolina.
