Dogwood Stable’s Palace Malice worked an easy half-mile in :50.82 over Belmont Park’s training track on Sunday morning in New York. It was the 4-year-old colt’s first serious move since he captured the grade I Metropolitan Handicap by a length on June 7 at Belmont.

Palace Malice is scheduled to race next in the grade I Whitney Stakes on Aug. 2 at Saratoga Race Course in New York.

An earner of $2,631,135, Palace Malice has won all four of his races this year, and he was No. 1 on the June 9 edition of the National Thoroughbred Racing Association’s Top Thoroughbred Poll. The colt has seven victories in 16 career starts.

Last year, Palace Malice ranked among the nation’s top 3-year-olds when he triumphed in the grade I Belmont Stakes.
