According to reports provided by the Aiken Department of Public Safety:
A 54-year-old Aiken man was detained for shoplifting on Thursday after he tried to take $500 in merchandise from a store on Richland Avenue without paying.
A 29-year-old North Augusta man was detained for shoplifting on Thursday after he tried to take several items from a store on Richland Avenue without paying.
A 63-year-old Aiken woman reported her cellphone stolen from her workplace on Newberry Street on Thursday.
An unknown woman shoplifted several grocery items from a store on Whiskey Road on Wednesday.
A burglary was reported at a home on Chatfield Street on Thursday. The owner reported a television missing.
According to reports provided by the Aiken County Sheriff’s Office:
A Warrenville woman reported fraud on Thursday after a scammer called her posing as law enforcement. The caller told the woman a friend of hers had warrants for his arrest, and that the victim had to pay $760 if she wanted the charges dropped. The victim gave the suspect her bank account information, which the suspect reportedly used to make more than $800 in online purchases.
A 22-year-old Aiken man was detained for criminal domestic violence on Friday after allegedly assaulting his girlfriend during an argument.
A burglary was reported at a home on Forest Drive in North Augusta on Thursday. The owner reported firearms missing.
Additional burglaries were reported on Rico Lane in Aiken, Weston Street in North Augusta and Storm Branch Road in Beech Island.
A vehicle was reported stolen from Dragstrip Road in Jackson on Thursday.
