GreenJackets swept by Sand Gnats in doubleheader

SAVANNAH, Ga. — The Augusta GreenJackets (32-34) were swept in a doubleheader Thursday, falling 3-2 and 6-0 to the Savannah Sand Gnats (44-20).

Both games were set to go seven innings, but the first game went to the eighth before Jonathan Leroux hit an RBI double off of Augusta reliever Jake Smith (1-2) to break the tie and win the game. Tyler Horan hit a solo home run for his sixth of the year.

In the nightcap, Steven Messner (4-2) surrendered all six runs on eight hits in 4? innings to take the loss.
