An Aiken man and a juvenile were detained on multiple counts of breaking and entering automobiles, according to the Aiken Department of Public Safety.

Dominique Paige, 19, was charged with two counts of breaking into motor vehicles, two counts of simple larceny and one count each of possession of stolen goods and failure to comply. He was placed in the Aiken County detention center, where he remained on Thursday afternoon.

The juvenile was placed in the S.C. Department of Juvenile Justice in Columbia.

The break-ins occurred in the Boardman Road and Magnolia Street area, police said. Paige and the juvenile were spotted by a resident looking into several parked vehicles. The resident called Aiken Public Safety and provided them a description of the suspects.

A short time later, the described individuals were seen on Magnolia Street by officers, police said. Paige was taken into custody after a short foot pursuit. The juvenile fled the area on a bicycle but was arrested a short time later without incident.

Police said Paige had several items in his possession that were reported stolen from vehicles in the jurisdiction of the Aiken County Sheriff’s Office.
